ZIO TOTO

That's the name of the other wood burning pizzeria. Zio Toto. Rover mentioned it in November. The dog and I (and I don't mean my wife) were out for our evening promenade and saw that it's open. Let the wood burning pizza wars begin.

Excellent experience all the way around! No comparisons to 'pizzerias' need be made except maybe to say that Lento's legend has finally been met and bettered. Zio Toto soars above it in that this is true 'regionale' cooking at its finest and if after you've dined there you don't get the sense that you're headed out the door back to the hotel instead of to your car to go back home, then you've never had the reward of sitting down to something wonderful like this in native Italia. Friendly, handsome, simpatico staff - what's more to want when the food arrives?! A gem in Brooklyn.

I actually ordered there a week ago on two different occassions. The first time I ordered their brick oven pizza it was good. Unfortunately, the scond time it was terrible! I guess I'll stik to my old places - Il Colessio on 18th Avenue and Europaon 20th Avenue.

Definitely whoever wrote the comment above works at Il Colessio and is trying to lure people there and steer them away from what is now the best pizza in Brooklyn! Just tried it 2 times and gave up so quickly??!!! Shame shame....I find it hard to believe that a pizza from Toto's would come out terrible. I have eaten there several times and it is always amazing!!! And after, for dessert, you must try their Nutella pizza - not listed on the menu at this point, but just ask - it is a dream come true!

The various selections of pizza, entree's and nutella pizza are all sooo good. i cant even count how many times i've been there. warm staff, very nice people. food is by far the best and if you didnt go yet, your crazy.

LoVe LoVe LoVe this place!!! I eat here almost everyday and it's always great - from the salads to the paninis and their pasta and deserts MOST ESPECIALLY that Nutella Pizza - I can eat it everyday if it wasn't so fattening!! The guys are all really nice and sincere - coming from a family of restaurant owners this place has the ambiance and hospitality needed Bay Ridge - and I have to say that the best part is that the waiters are Italian!

I am a big fan of Ginos Restaurant in Bay Ridge, and have tried many other Italian restaurants in the area for variety. None have intrigued me to become a reoccurring customer like Ginos. I am happy to say - Zio Toto in my opinion has amazing Italian food/pizza and will become a favorite in the neighborhood as people become aware of quality.
