REPUBLICANS CARE ABOUT YOU!

Last Saturday, President Obama and first lady Michelle flew to NYC to have dinner and attend the Broadway show Joe Turner’s Come and Gone.

The Republican National Committee had some choice words for the President:
"As President Obama prepares to wing into Manhattan's theater district on Air Force One to take in a Broadway show, GM is preparing to file bankruptcy and families across America continue to struggle to pay their bills," the GOP said. "Have a great Saturday evening -- even if you're not jetting off somewhere at taxpayer expense."
With this chiding of the President, the Republicans sent a clear message to America: The President doesn’t care about you but we do.

How do you live with yourself that you are an apologist for Obama and have no ability to distance yourself from your pinko-communist views to accurately analyze a situation.

Forget about the past, b/c both republicans and democrats have done stupid things.

So, lets get down to reality. You really think that with all the unemployment going on, GM going bankrupt and Chrysler being sold to the car company known as "Fix It Again Tony", that it was in the best interest to come to NY? Give a YES or NO answer.

Do you realize how much taxpayer money it cost to do that?

Its the presidents responsibility to lead. He should lead the people to not waste money.

Now, bring on your "Well Bush did this..." argument. Just know, that its getting kind of old.

Ah, the pinko-communist card! Fantastic. It always give you credibility when you use it.

And speaking of getting old, so are you, Joe.

I have no idea why you keep calling me Joe. Thats not my name.

I love how you get so upset over the pinko/communist comment all the time. Truth hurts.

We'll save that for another day, though.

How about you answer the question that was posed to you. Do you think it was proper for Obama to spend all that TAXPAYER money to go to New York, given the current economic climate and all the events in the car industry? Its a simple yes or no question.
Please don't refer acts of any past or current politicians, because that is irrelevant to the question.

Question 2:
Do you think that all of the government intervention in the automobile, financial and media industries will benefit the country long term? Do you think life-long government beauracrats can run a company better than the private sector?

I ask you these questions as legitimate debates and will cease the name calling.

And again, for the record, I am not a republican.. I am a true conservative, both fiscally and socially. I in no way think that the policies Bush put in during his 8 years were anywhere near conservative. Its my opinion that Bush implemented many socialist-type policies that Obama is now continuing or making worse.

I hope you can string together a legitimate analysis and answer, and that all that pot you smoked hasn't killed too many brain cells.

Too much pot make pinko commie brain not work anymore.

Masked Avenger said...

Are you serious? Do you really not have an answer to those questions?

I thought we could have an open debate between two people with different viewpoints.

Mark said...

Really? You want me to have a serious debate on legitimate issues after you say "I hope you can string together a legitimate analysis and answer, and that all that pot you smoked hasn't killed too many brain cells"?

After you claim you will cease the name calling?

Really?

You confuse anger with exasperation. That you continue to use cold-war era comic book slang for "democrat" and "liberal" is exasperating. It makes you look like a close-minded fool. We don't want that for you.

Your question about Obama using taxpayer money to go to New York (and not being able to reference any other president) is a silly question. One could question whether any sitting president should use taxpayer money to go on vacation while there are still unemployed, uninsured, and homeless people in our country. Should a president use taxpayer money to go on vacation while even more taxpayer money is being wasted in a war? Should a president or a senator or a congressman or congresswoman use taxpayer money for anything while companies continue to go out of business and Americans struggle to put food on the table?

The point of my post was the short-term memory and the hypocrisy of the GOP. Where was their outrage when thousands of Americans died in Katrina and President Bush attended a "birthday cake" photo-op? Where was their outrage when Condoleezza Rice went on a much publicized shoe-shopping excursion while thousands struggled in inhuman conditions? Their "outrage" at Obama going to NYC for the night is delusional and self-righteous.

As for the intervention of the government into the various industries, I have no idea. Sweden's intervention of the banks in the early 1990's worked for them. Will it work here? I'm not an economist so I can't say one way or the other. Do I hope it works? Yes.

Obama inherited a booby-trapped term and it remains to be seen whether we can pull out of this mess. I know I wouldn't want to be him.

Agree with thebookmill -- terrific post!

FYI -- when someone uses a term like "pinko communist," I know that he-she is among the Mentally Stuck who wax nostalgic for the good ole days of faux Red-baiting. Ten points automatically get deducted (from overall score and from functional IQ.)

Ok.. so instead of "Pinko-Communist" I'll use "left-wing, anti-capitalist, Obama apoligist nut". Basically the same thing, but I don't want you guys/gals to get your panties all in a bunch.

ALL HAIL CHAIRMAN MAOBAMA.

My panties aren't bunched: I'm not name-calling, ranting, or making up wackjob "Maobama" slogans (which, PS, doesn't sound clever at all: it's dumb nyah-nyah kidstuff).

But I do think that "pinko communist" is discreditably comical (as well as inaccurate), and implies a sick longing for the era of witch-hunting.

And, PS, I remember when GWB was being referred to as "pastor-in-chief," and when hordes of evangelicals regarded him as God's Own Chosen President, and when he said that "Gold told me" to hit Iraq and Afghanistan, and when he kept dropping creepy fundamentalist allusions into his speeches. Scary-messianic stuff.
But I guess you missed that.

AnonAgain - I was actually just as scared of Bush as I am of Obama. They are both educated by the Socialist cloth. Bush just duped everyone to think he was a conservative, but spent like a democrat. If you've ever read anything I wrote, I bash GWB just as much as Obama.

As far as the pink communist.. i actually don't think its inaccurate. We've had how many companies nationalized? Car Companies, Banks, federal restrictions on pay, soon health care and who knows what else? Now they are trying to reinstate the fairness doctrine because the gov't wants to controll the airwaves. Hugo Chavez says that Obama is more left than him and Fidel.

Nationalized car companies, banks, health care, government radio/television, forced volunteer organizations...
If you can't see the writing on the wall of the direction our country is heading, then you've smoked too much pot also.
