END OF THE LINE FOR CARRADINE

UPDATE 6/11:
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The independent forensics expert who examined David Carradine's body says the actor didn't commit suicide, and Carradine's brothers are asking for understanding as Thai authorities investigate.

"The autopsy findings and the evidence thus far available demonstrate that Mr. Carradine's death was not the result of suicide.

Actor David Carradine, of Kung Fu fame, has been found dead, hanging by a nylon rope in a hotel room closet in Bangkok, Thailand, according to a Thai police official.

So far they're saying that there is no evidence of anyone else being in the room and
Carradine's friends and personal managers...brushed aside suggestions that Carradine might have taken his own life.
Sounds like a night at the Gregory Hotel.

RIP David.

DEMONS CHECK OUT

Our own Matt Lysiak has written a fantastic article today in the Daily News
Preacher says he casts out demons from Bay Ridge hotel
As we all know, the Gregory Hotel - or Gory Hotel - has been the site of a recent murder and a few suspicious suicides.

The Gory Hotel is currently the meeting place for the nondenominational Calvary Praise and All You Can Eat Buffet Worship Center.

I love this quote
"Demons are real and very dangerous. I know because I've experienced it," said Michael Casale.
That's because you are a demon!

Look at this guy. He's got demon written all over him. He couldn't have used his non-demonic look for the picture? Man he's creepy.

GREGORY HOTEL STRIKES AGAIN

I go away for one day and there's another death at the 'Gory Hotel??!!

According to the Brooklyn Eagle --
"Early Friday afternoon, the body of an unidentified Asian female was found at the hotel with a knife in her chest..."
A knife in her chest!? Oh man, you've got to be pretty strong to plunge a knife into someone's chest. Whoever killed her must have been --
"...and a suicide note."
Are you kidding me!? A suicide!? Yeah, nothing says "suicide" more than a knife plunged into your own chest. I jump around and howl if I get a paper cut. How is it that a woman can impale herself with a knife and not scream bloody murder?

Speaking of murder? Could it have been murder? Nope. Remember there was a suicide note. And if there's a suicide note, who can argue?

I mean, look at the John Rossi suicide. Rossi shot at himself and missed (when you're that close to yourself it's easy to miss), shot himself in the chest, and then when that didn't work, shot himself in the head. Some may say that's a tad suspicious, three shots and all, plus that little fact that he was going to be a key witness in a grand jury trial. But there was a suicide note.

Verdict: suicide.

But even if there isn't a suicide note, it's pretty obvious when a death is a suicide. Take Paul Mento, for instance. He checked into the Gory Hotel in February and placed duct tape over his mouth and nose. Obvious suicide. I mean, isn't that the most efficient way to commit suicide? And there's no way in hell a person is going to reach up and rip the tape off when he starts to choke.

This is the 3rd dead body in 6 months that has been found at the Gory hotel. And you know what that means? The Gory Hotel is officially the place to die in Bay Ridge.

Just don't plan on being buried at the Green Church.

BAY RIDGE TO SEE MCGREEN

In a surprise move, McDonald's Corp has purchased the Bay Ridge Methodist Church and will turn the church into a retirement home for their "high profile" employees. The Green Church, as it is known locally, will be renamed McGreen Acres.
"Bay Ridge is a wonderful community," said a McDonald's spokesman. "It's the perfect community for our aging HP employees."
Both Mayor McCheese and Uncle O'Grimacey are expected to move in when construction is completed in the spring of 2009.
"Grimace would have loved it here," said Uncle O'Grimacey.
Grimace, the beloved and well-meaning simpleton, was tragically killed in 2005 by The Happy Meal Gang over a $10 gambling debt. His body had been found at the Bay Ridge Gregory Hotel.

(GRE)GORY MURDER UPDATE #3

Here's yet another update on the Paul Mento death.

Newsday is reporting that
investigators have information that he had a gambling problem, according to a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation has not been completed.
Gambling problem.
Possible debt to someone who really wanted the money.
Suicide from duct tape over mouth and nose.

One of these things doesn't fit.

HERE'S WHAT I DON'T GET

Okay, so they're saying Paul Mento committed suicide by asphyxiation caused by duct tape over his mouth. I've never tried it and I don't intend to try it, but wouldn't the natural reaction to not breathing be to rip the duct tape off your mouth?

I'm not buying the suicide theory and I'm certainly not buying stock in Best Western.

(GRE)GORY MURDER UPDATE #2

So here's yet another update about the death of Paul Mento.

As you may know by now, Paul Mento was found dead the at the Best Western Gregory hotel. It was initially reported (here at Left in Bay Ridge as well) that he was found duct taped to a chair. This evidently is false. Then it was reported (here as well) that he was found in the bathtub with duct tape over his mouth. This is evidently false as well. Police said they were investigating the death as "suspicious." Um, yeah, duct tape over the mouth and all.

Well, the latest is the police have ruled Paul Mento's death as a suicide. A WHAT!? That's right, a suicide. According to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle -
The Medical Examiners Office determined that it was in fact a suicide, and that Mento died through asphyxiation caused by the duct tape.
Police found no blood, no trauma, no signs of struggle, no drugs and no alcohol. “Not a piece of furniture was touched,” according to a police source.
No word yet on whether there was a suicide note.

But one thing is certain, for all your banquet and murder needs in Brooklyn, the Best Western (Gre)Gory Hotel is your best bet.

(GRE)GORY MURDER UPDATE

According to the NY Times, the body found at the Gregory Hotel in the Ridge was Paul Mento, 52. His mouth was covered with duct tape. And here's the best part -
"The police said they were investigating the death as suspicious."
Sharp as tacks, that police force.

And yet John Rossi's suspicious death not so suspicious to the police.

THE (GRE)GORY HOTEL

No sooner do I post about crime stats and the fact that the Ridge hasn't had a murder so far this this year when - STABBO! - the Best Western Gregory comes through with a murder.

The Rover has the details so far. Man taped to a chair, stabbed to death. Your typical Bay Ridge hotel murder.

But here's a hint - don't stay at the Best Western Gregory Hotel!

KNOCK KNOCK...HOUSEKEEPING

Right in Bay Ridge was the first to report that a Bay Ridge man was killed earlier today at the Gregory Hotel at 8315 4th Ave. Here's the latest from the Brooklyn Eagle -
Police are conducting a homicide investigation into the death of a Bay Ridge man found stabbed Monday afternoon in the Best Western Gregory Hotel at 8315 Fourth Ave. in Bay Ridge.
Police said 26-year-old David Diaz was stabbed in the back with blunt trauma wounds to his head.

Diaz was found around 12:20 p.m. by a maid working for the hotel. Squad cars arrived on the scene shortly thereafter. Police said they are investigating why Diaz, who lived blocks away from the hotel, on Fifth Avenue near 76th Street, had been staying in the hotel. Police had not made any arrests by press time.
